Till recently, ASUS was seen riding on its success without much to worry about. However, with the arrival of MSI Wind, it seems to have shaken the foundation for ASUS, which has not faced much development lately except for the new glossy finish. Eee also seems to have piled on some extra weight, for which the credit goes to the 6800AH battery.
Well, ASUS soon found itself in the midst of many competitors and the arrival of MSI’s Wind PC gave consumers the confidence to look beyond ASUS. Although both the MSI Wind and the Asus Eee sport Intel Atom processors of the same value (1.6GHz) and similar expansion ports and hardware, the Wind passes off as the larger and sturdier model effortlessly. Its 10.2-inch screen, which provides even clarity and lighting, the user friendly, widely spaced keyboard has grasped the attention of many consumers. The Eee lacks in this aspect, as its keyboard appears to be cramped within its shell. Therefore, your fingers may not necessarily find the experience comforting.
Besides, one of the prime differences between these Titans is the storage space. While the Wind has a storage capacity of 80GB, the ASUS Eee remains faithful to a 12GB flash based storage. The battery life of both the ASUS and the Wind seem to be equally impressive. The hard disk speed of the MSI Wind PC scored better than the ASUS and sealed the impression of the MSI Wind. Eventually, one has to decide between bigger features and longer usage for the WIND and the ASUS offer these respectively. So, if size does matter, then the MSI Wind PC would be the perfect choice.

Well, since the Asus Eee only has up to a 4 cell battery (according to the Asus global website) about up to 3.5 hour battery life and the MSI Wind now comes in a 6 cell battery version, 5.5 hours approximately, battery life wise the tide may have turned in the Wind’s favour. You can also install a 2.5″ 7200 RPM HDD to greatly improve performance (albeit voiding your warranty).

KoKo, thank you for your comments!
1. We’re always learning! What’s wrong with “comforting experience”?
2. You’re right about the model - Eee 901. We’ll add comparison to 1000H as you suggested.
3. We’ll make the correction to the page.
4. SDD memory on Asus is relatively slow (for flash-based storage), but is more reliable and still much faster compared to hard drive. In this case, the main criteria for “scoring” was the disk size.

1. Learn English. “Grasped the attention”? ” A “comforting” experience? “Sealed the impression”?
2. Name the model of Eee you are comparing against. You apparently are talking about the 901, XP version. What about the 1000H, which is nearly a duplicate of the Wind in size and features?
3. Don’t you mean “6800 milliAH”? And don’t you mean 6600? (Or 5800, or 5200, or 4400?)
4. How exactly did the Wind’s hard disk speed “score better” than the Asus’? In fact, how can a HDD outscore an SDD in any way?
5. Why do you say the Wind’s battery life is better than the Eee’s? Every comparison I’ve seen (between the Wind and both the Eee 901 and 1000) shows the Wind losing. By a lot.
